Jens Galschiøt Today I had the incredible opportunity to meet one of my favorite artists, Jens Galshiot. Prior to this event I had learned about the Pillar of Shame in Hong Kong, read the book Jeg Anklager, and have seen some of his work around Denmark. Needless to say, the tour of his workshop and getting to talk to him was a dream. From the perspective of an Environmental scientist, I was thrilled to hear that some of his more recent work and artistic pursuits are relating to climate change and how carbon ppm in the atmosphere is increasing. In fact, getting to see that he has many works pertaining to issues with the environment and pollution has not only fueled my inspiration as an Environmental scientist, but has also made me adore his work even more. Freedom to Pollute (a figure of the statue of liberty blowing smoke in response to the USA not participating in the Paris accord) was incredible commentary on the states being complicit in the end of the world as we know it, and...
